Summer Chalk Activities!

Actividades de tiza de verano!

Ahora que su hijo tiene tiempo para jugar afuera, quería compartir algunas actividades simples con tiza que pueden ayudarlo a aprender inglés. Chalk es económico y divertido para jugar (compré tiza por 1 euro en mi bazar local). Espero que estas actividades alienten a su hijo a practicar su inglés hablado.

Now that your child has time to play outside, I wanted to share some simple activities using chalk that can help them learn English. Chalk is inexpensive and fun to play with (I bought chalk for 1 Euro at my local bazar). I hope these activities encourage your child to practice their spoken English. 

La primera actividad es similar a la rayuela ... pero los números se reemplazan con vocabulario del libro de texto de su hijo o preguntas simples. Los niños tendrán que escribir las palabras u oraciones en los cuadros. Una vez que el niño ha creado un dibujo de rayuela (similar a las imágenes a continuación), puede saltar en cada cuadrado y leer la palabra en inglés o responder las preguntas.

The first activity is similar to hopscotch ... but the numbers are replaced with vocabulary from your child's text book or simple questions. Children will have to write out the words or sentences in the boxes. Once the child has created a hopscotch drawing (similar to the pictures below) they can hop on each square and read out the English word or answer the questions. 

Estas imágenes son dos niveles diferentes. La imagen de la izquierda es muy simple y buena para estudiantes más jóvenes. La imagen de la derecha es más difícil y requiere que los estudiantes mayores lean oraciones o respondan preguntas. Entiendo que estas imágenes son difíciles de leer, así que he escrito las palabras a continuación.

These pictures are two different levels. The picture on the left is very simple and good for younger students. The picture on the right is more difficult and requires older students to read sentences or answer questions . I understand these pictures are hard to read so I have written out the words below.

Esta actividad se puede cambiar para cumplir con el nivel de su hijo. A medida que comenzamos a aprender vocabulario nuevo, su hijo puede cambiar las palabras colocadas en cada cuadro para que coincidan con el material que aprendió recientemente. Espero que su hijo disfrute esta actividad.

This activity can be changed to meet your child's level. As we begin to learn new vocabulary, your child can change the words placed in each box to match the material they've recently learnt. I hope your child enjoys this activity.

                                                         

La próxima actividad ayuda a su hijo a practicar números en inglés. Esta actividad también se puede cambiar para satisfacer las necesidades de su hijo: ¡los niños más pequeños pueden practicar contar de 1 a 20 y los estudiantes mayores pueden practicar contar de 1 a 100! Para esta actividad, su hijo dibujará una diana en el suelo con tiza. En cada sección de la diana, su hijo escribirá diferentes números (un ejemplo se publica a continuación). Su hijo puede lanzar una pelota u objeto ligero a la diana. Una vez que han lanzado la pelota, deben leer el número en inglés. Si desea que esta actividad sea más desafiante, su hijo puede lanzar la pelota varias veces y sumar sus puntajes. Esto ayudará a desarrollar habilidades de suma.

The next activity helps your child practice numbers in English. This activity can also be changed to meet your child's needs - younger children can practice counting from 1-20 and older students can practice counting to 1-100! For this activity, your child will draw a bullseye on the ground in chalk. In each section of the bullseye, your child will write different numbers (an example is posted below). Your child can throw a ball or light object at the bullseye. Once they've thrown the ball, they must read out the number in English. If you want this activity to be more challenging, your child can throw the ball multiple times and add up their scores. This will help develop addition skills.

¡La actividad final ayuda al alumno a aprender partes del cuerpo y prendas de vestir en inglés! Su hijo tendrá que tumbarse en el suelo y pedirle a un amigo o padre que describa su cuerpo con tiza. Luego, el niño decorará su cuerpo con ropa y accesorios. Pueden llevar un disfraz de superhéroe o un vestido de princesa; su hijo puede ser creativo. Una vez que hayan terminado de decorar su cuerpo delineado, deben etiquetar su obra de arte en inglés. He proporcionado un ejemplo a continuación y enumeré los nombres de las partes del cuerpo y la ropa en inglés y español. Su hijo puede realizar esta actividad más de una vez, ya que puede vestir su contorno de manera diferente.

The final activity helps student learn body parts  and articles of clothing in English! Your child will have to lay on the ground and have a friends or parent outline their body in chalk. The child will then decorate their body with clothing and accessories. They can be wearing a super hero costume or a princess dress - your child can be creative. Once they have finished decorating their outlined body, they must label their artwork in English. I have provided an example below and listed the names of body parts and clothing in both English and Spanish. Your child can do this activity more than once as they can dress their outline differently.
